Joel Has The Potential To Be A Match Winner

8 September 2016

Steve Davis says his players will have to wary of our former winger this weekend.

Jamaican International Joel Grant could return to the Alexandra Stadium this weekend and be the potential match winner for Exeter City according to Alex boss Steve Davis. Grant worked with Davis during his time at Crewe when the current boss was understudy to Gudjon Thordarson.

Grant came off the bench last weekend to score the winner in a 3-2 win at Colchester and Davis is fully aware of the former Watford Junior’s ability in the final third.

Steve told crewealex.net: “I always had a good relationship with Joel when he was here. I would like to think that I helped him along the way. He was always a confidence player who could be a match winner for you.

“On any given day, Joel could really be a danger and a threat to the opposition with his ability.

He added: “The club paid a fair bit of money to Aldershot to sign him and he was always a young player with great potential. At times with us he probably didn’t realise his full potential because of the ability he possesses, but he now has more experience and will be a threat on Saturday.”
