Steve told crewealex.net: “We have managed to achieve some clean-sheets of late and I would think Ben (Garratt) has never been so quiet as he has this season! We are limiting the chances that the opposition have and we have conceded eight goals in eight games. That is a stat I am pleased with.

“I have always said that it starts from the front. The front two have been magnificent for us, stopping defenders from bringing the ball out and not giving them time on the ball.

  “That work rate rubs off on everyone else and we are operating better as a defensive unit. It has been a step forward and has been a real positive for us this season.”
