Davis On Exeter City Clash

9 September 2016

Steve Davis looking forward to locking horns for the first time with Paul Tisdale.

Steve Davis is looking forward to welcoming Exeter City and their manager Paul Tisdale to Gresty Road for the first time in over 25 years this weekend. Davis has never met Tisdale before and is looking forward to trying to outfox the former Team Bath coach.

Exeter City fought back to record a superb 3-2 away win at Colchester last weekend with our former winger Joel Grant scoring the winner.

Ahead of our League Two encounter, Steve said: “Exeter showed some real fight and character last week to win at Colchester. We don’t underestimate any team in this league because they are tough.

“We don’t ever think that because we beat Doncaster last weekend that it will just be the same again this week. The Doncaster game could have gone either way on the day and we know that every team in this league fights until the end. No game is easy and we respect all our opponents.

“They are well organised and have threats and we know that Joel (Grant) on his day can be a match winner.

“I’ve never met Paul (Tisdale). We have seemed to have avoided each other through the leagues, so it will be nice to finally meet him, have a bit of chat and try and get the better of each other when the game starts.”
