Davis Okay After Illness

13 September 2016

Hary Davis to make himself available after struggling with illness over the weekend.

Crewe Alexandra’s most experienced defender Harry Davis should declare himself available for the weekend after overcoming a bout of illness. Davis was withdrawn in the second half against Exeter City on Saturday to be replaced by George Ray after complaining of feeling unwell at half-time.

Davis had been struggling in the build-up to our home encounter with the Grecians, but felt well enough during Friday’s final session to declare himself fit and available.

Steve is hoping to have Davis, 24, available for this weekend’s trip to Grimsby but he has Ben Nugent and Ray on stand-by if he is not 100%. Davis has made 187 appearances for the Alex in all competitions and was last season’s club captain before the arrival of Ryan Lowe this summer.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We checked Harry over and he seems fine again now. He looks a lot brighter now and not as pale as he was last week.

“He looks to be over whatever he was struggling from and I’m sure he will make himself available for the weekend.”
