Davis Impressed By Solid Mariners

16 September 2016

Steve Davis previews our visit to Blundell Park.

Steve Davis has been impressed with the way Grimsby Town have adjusted to life back in the English Football League. The Mariners regained their League status via the National League play-offs last season and they have already collected 10 points as they aim to establish themselves at the higher level.

Crewe travel to Blundell Park on the back of three straight wins but face a Grimsby side who enjoyed a great result away at Luton Town last weekend.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We have watched Grimsby and I have gone through their last three games. They are a good side. They are a team, who all work hard for each other. They have two or three players who can make the difference for them and win them a game.

“They play with a great intensity and are a decent side. They have made a solid start to the season and have 10 points. That is a good platform for them to build on and I’m sure Paul (Hurst) will be pleased with the start they have made.”
