250 Up For Gaffer

16 September 2016

Steve Davis to mark his 250th game in charge of Crewe this weekend.

"I haven't thought too much about the milestone if I'm honest but although I've achieved 250 games, I am still looking to improve and continue to learn everyday as a manager."

"I think it was my 100th game when we got stuffed and that wasn't very memorable. It is all about the result for me.

Steve told the club's official web-site: "I am not one for knowing how many games I've been in charge of. It is a nice figure to get to, especially with managers not given a great deal of time anymore but reaching that milestone won't count for anything if we don't get a result. That is what will make it a good or bad weekend.
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis will mark his 250th game in charge of the club this weekend but he says that the milestone will count for nothing if his team do not pick up a result at Grimsby.

Davis is currently the 6th longest serving manager in England and Grimsby's long-serving boss Paul Hurst is one that is above him in 4th spot after spending over five years in the hot-seat.
