Wintle Determined Not To Let Chance Pass

4 October 2016

Youngster ready to step up and take his chance this season.

Young midfielder Ryan Wintle is hoping he will be handed some game time against Wolverhampton Wanderers this evening. The former Alsager Town youngster is now fully fit after having last season ended prematurely due to an ankle injury and the attack-minded midfield is hoping he can get another chance tonight after recently coming on late on against Wycombe Wanderers.

Wintle is hoping that boss Steve Davis may give some of his fringe players a chance against a young Wolves side in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Ahead of tonight’s game, Ryan said: “You have to be ready when your chance comes. I have been fit for a while now and I’m just waiting for another opportunity now. I feel fit and ready to take my chance.

“Hopefully that might come against Wolves. Jonah (James Jones) is away with Scotland so that is a spot up for grabs. I will be competing with the likes of Billy (Bingham) and one or two others who could play.

“It is a big season for me but I cherish the challenge. I know I have to push on and work hard. I’ve been given a great opportunity here at Crewe and it is up to me to make sure I do everything I can to make it.

“I was working at KFC a few years ago, so I know the other side of things and I don’t want this chance to pass by.”
