Boss believes his team will learn from Yeovil set-back

Steve Davis firmly believes that his Crewe Alexandra side are certainly good enough to challenge for a top seven place this season. The Alex boss was disappointed that his side couldn’t end a recent winless streak that has now stretched to seven games in all competitions following Yeovil’s 1-0 win at the Alexandra Stadium at the weekend.

The Railwaymen were certainly unfortunate to come away from the contest with nothing to show for our efforts, especially after our dominant first half display, but an upbeat Steve believes that his team will grow stronger after losing their first home game of the season.

place, but still only two points off the play-off positions. It is all very tight in League Two with only league leaders Plymouth Argyle and Carlisle showing any real consistency. thThe three points against Yeovil could have seen Crewe cement their place in the top seven but the set-back has now seen us fallen to 12

Steve said: “I think most managers would know that we should be higher in the league than we are, but we have drawn too many games and dropped some points that we probably didn’t deserve to.

“It is still a long season and we will learn from what happened on Saturday. We should perhaps have more points than we have but there are still plenty of games to go to make sure we are where we want to be.

“We have had a set-back but we are not too far off the top seven. We now have to move on and make sure we go to Orient and get a positive result.”
