U23: Huddersfield 1-3 Crewe

31 October 2016

Table-Toppers Toppled By Morris' Troops

Crewe Alexandra's Under 23 side travelled to Yorkshire to take on U23 PDL2 league leaders Huddersfield Town & walked away with three points after a fantastic performance.

The Terriers took the lead, but Morris' side fought back with three goals to run out 3-1 victors and seal all three points.

A mix-up between defender Marcus Poscha and goalkeeper Dave Richards gifted the hosts the lead early on, Richards missing an attempted backpass & the ball nestled into the net.

The Alex responded and regained parity on 35 minutes, Callum Saunders tapping home at the back post from a Dan Udoh cross.

Into the second period and Crewe sealed the victory with two goals in two minutes just past the hour mark.

The first game from Charlie Kirk, with the winger cutting inside and curling a shot into the corner of the net.

With Huddersfield rattled, Udoh terrorised the defenders immediately from the restart, won back possession & fed Kirk. His shot was saved by the keeper, but Saunders was on hand to convert the rebound for his second and to seal all three points.

Crewe: Richards, Bullock, Ng, Poscha, Yates, Lowery (Wintle, 66), Ainley (Pickering, 70), Finney, Kirk, Saunders (Dale, 70), Udoh
