U18: Hull City 1-2 Crewe

6 October 2016

Kenny Lunt's Youngsters Fight For Victory At Tigers

Crewe Alexandra Under 18's fought against wind, rain and Hull City to earn a deserved three points at the weekend.

Owen Dale & Joel Lynch, with his first for the side, netted to secure the victory after coming back from one goal down.

The Tigers took a 14th minute advantage when they broke forward before rounding the move off with a cool finish into the far corner past helpless keeper Scott Wardley.

Crewe played some scintillating football in the first half, and the play was rewarded by a 25-yard Dale screamer that ripped into the top corner just after the half hour mark.

The weather conditions worsened as the contest continued, and that affected the clash in the second period, but Crewe continued to grind and notched the winner with just nine minutes reaming, substitute Lynch arriving late on the edge of the box to fire low into the corner & seal the points.

Crewe: Wardley, Manuel (Walsh, 76), Sass-Davies, Wilkinson, Barlow (Offord, 62), Pickering, Lundstram, Dale, Griffiths (Lynch, 66), Walley, Reilly
