U18: Crewe 1-0 Nottingham Forest

13 October 2016

Kenny's Under 18's Grab Deserved Home Win

Crewe Alexandra Under 18's grabbed a deserved victory over Nottingham Forest at Reaseheath at the weekend by a one goal to nil margin.

The victory is the team's fourth in the last five games after victories over Sheffield United, Crystal Palace & Hull City, with the only blip coming in a narrow defeat to QPR.

Midfielder Regan Griffiths grabbed the only goal of the game on 66 minutes, doing the keeper with the eyes & firing low into the bottom corner after a good build-up.

Forest hit the bar on the half hour mark at 0-0, but that served as a reminder to Crewe who upped their game with Lewis Reilly having a shot cleared off the line moments before the half-time whistle.

After the goal, Crewe controlled the play & could've added to the lead with several half-chances, but they played out the time professionally and kept a second clean sheet of the season in the process.

Crewe: Wardley, Offord, Sass-Davies, Wilkinson, Barlow, Lynch, Lundstram, Dale (Hurst, 63), Pickering, Reilly (Griffiths, 45), Walley (Thompson, 60)
