Steve Shortlisted For September Manager Of The Month

4 October 2016

Boss nominated alongside three other League Two managers

Crewe Alexandra Manager Steve Davis has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award for September alongside three other bosses.

The winner will be announced on Friday 7 October 2016 at 6am, with Plymouth's Derek Adams, Accrington's John Coleman & Grimsby's Paul Hurst also in the the frame.

The September nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award are:

Derek Adams (Plymouth Argyle)
Guided his side through an almost perfect month, collecting 13 points from five unbeaten games and only conceding two goals. Has added a pragmatic dimension to his team’s play with top spot in League Two as the reward.

John Coleman (Accrington Stanley)
Had to lift the club on the pitch after the heartache of missing out on promotion on the final day of last season and subsequent player departures. Made light of a difficult fixture list to garner 11 points from five unbeaten games.

Steve Davis (Crewe Alexandra)
Has rewarded the faith of the Crewe board following relegation to steer Alex into the promotion picture. September saw his side record three successive victories on their way to picking up 10 points from five games.

Paul Hurst (Grimsby Town)
Changing a winning side following promotion is a difficult task. Summer departures of key players forced him to rebuild, but three wins and a draw from five games in just his second month as an EFL manager is a notable achievement.
