Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he will enjoy taking his side to Kenilworth Road tomorrow because he cannot talk highly enough of the club. Steve’s son Joe enjoying a period on loan with the Hatters back in November 2013 and the Alex boss says that the staff there made him extremely welcome whenever he made the trip to watch Joe.

Ahead of our weekend trip to Luton, Steve said: “The squad has changed dramatically since Joe was there and they were burying everyone in the Conference. They had Andre Gray then and he is now scoring goals in the Premier League for Burnley.

“Luton are a big club for this division and have great support. They are a club who should be playing higher and like us their aim will aim to be a League One club again as quickly as possible.

The boss added: “When I use to go and watch Joe they were always a very friendly club. They made us feel very welcome and everyone in the background was accommodating. I cannot speak any higher of the people there. They are good supporters and I am looking forward to going back there.”
