Ray Only Doubt For London Trip

28 October 2016

Boss has tough decision to make over his match day squad to face Leyton Orient.

Crewe Alexandra’s only injury concern for this weekend’s trip to Leyton Orient remains defender George Ray. The former Wales Under-21 International had to pull out of Monday’s Development Squad encounter against Birmingham City after complaining of a tight groin muscle in the warm-up. He was a late withdrawal after being named to start against Blues.

Steve Davis has a decision to make whether to recall James Jones in central midfielder after he lost his place due to his International commitments with Scotland Under-21s.

Callum Ainley is also pushing for a recall after scoring in successive games for Alex Morris’ Under-23 side and then making a positive impact after coming on as a substitute against Yeovil last weekend.

With virtually a full squad to select from, the bench will once again be strong with the likes of Charlie Kirk, Ray, Callum Saunders and Ryan Wintle all left out of the match day squad against the Glovers.
