Kiwomya Could Feature For 23s At Coventry

6 October 2016

Alex Kiwomya could step his return with game time against the Sky Blues.

Crewe Alexandra’s on-loan winger Alex Kiwomya could make his return to competitive action for the club’s Development Squad on Monday afternoon.

Alex Morris’ side travel to Coventry City’s impressive Ricoh Arena for the game and the Chelsea youngster could be given some game time as he steps up his recovery from the shoulder injury he sustained away at Grimsby Town.

Kiwomya, who has hit four goals this season has missed the club’s last four games and Crewe have failed to record a victory during his absence, drawing against Blackpool and Mansfield and losing heavily to Wycombe and Wolves in the EFL Trophy.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Alex is progressing well and he could be available for the week after (Notts County).

“We could consider him for the U-23s at Coventry on Monday and if he can get through 45 or 60 minutes and comes through without any trouble then he be will under consideration.

“We will continue to assess him when he returns to competitive training and that will be a huge lift for us because we have missed his ability in the final third.”
