Draws Into Wins Is The Next Step

17 October 2016

Boss pleased with our comeback capabilities but he wants more wins after four draws in five.

Steve Davis has been pleased with the resilience shown by his players after their recent record of fighting back to salvage a point from four of our last five games but the Crewe boss is still after those three points that would see us continue to put pressure on those ahead of us in the table.

Crewe Alexandra have had to come from a goal down on each occasion but we have to settle for a 1-1 draw and a share of the spoils.

Steve told crewealex: “We have had to come from behind a lot this season and that is a good trait to have. We have enough characters here to make sure we keep going but we don’t want to lose too much ground on the top three by drawing too many games.

“It is still early and we can make that ground up yet but we want to keep in touch. If we would have managed to keep a clean-sheet in some of the games we have drawn then our league position would be lot higher.

“If the header that crossed the line would have stood like it should have, then we could have had four points from two tough away games and that would have been a great return at this stage.

“That decision has proved costly but if can win our home games and continue to pick up points away from home then that should put us in a good position.”
