Dagnall On Returning To His Former Club

27 October 2016

Chris Dagnall says Crewe have to get back to winning ways at the Matchroon Stadium.

Chris Dagnall is looking to put Saturday’s ‘unfortunate’ defeat to Yeovil behind us, with a positive result at his former club Leyton Orient. Dagnall, 30, hit the crossbar twice against the Glovers at the weekend as Crewe slipped to their first home defeat of the season.

Although he narrowly missed out on promotion to the Championship with the O’s during his time there, Dagnall only has fond memories of his experience in London. Dagnall scored 20 goals in 74 appearances for Leyton Orient before he departed for the Indian Super League to sign for Kerala Blasters in the summer of 2015.

Chris told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: "It has changed a lot since I was there. There might only be one or two players left from my time there but I am looking forward to going back.

"It's such a shame, it's a good club with great fans and based in a great location.

"I joined them in the middle of the play-off season and it's a disappointing to see where they are, but this is what happens when new owners come in and change things.

"I think we have been unfortunate in the last five or six games not to get a couple of wins.

"We've not been playing too badly. We were unlucky against Yeovil, but we've got to put that to bed now and move on.

"It wasn't to be on the day and we have to forget about that now.”

Chris added: "It will be a tough game against Leyton Orient. They beat Hartlepool away on Saturday so will go in to the match with a bit of confidence, but we're looking to get back to winning ways and hopefully we can do that at the weekend."
