Cooper Has Set The Standard

10 October 2016

Boss says youngster is coming into his own after fantastic start to the season.

Crewe Alexandra’s potential game changer George Cooper is playing with 'huge confidence' according to his boss Steve Davis. Cooper, 19, was again at his creative best at Luton Town providing a superb assist for Ryan Lowe’s equalising goal. Cooper’s delivery with the outside of his boot found Lowe at the far post and the veteran striker stooped in to score his 7th goal of the season.

Steve was once again delighted with the Warrington-born winger at Kenilworth Road: “We thought the space would be on the outside but it was inside. George came off the wing and found that space. He played in those little pockets and came into the centre of the pitch, where he is a real threat.

“He makes things happen and he is in a great run of form for us. He was our most creative player once again and he has to keep that going. He has to keep that standard up and work hard.

“He is a player who is playing with a great deal of confidence and his skill and cross for our goal was excellent. He has got to keep on churning out those performances.”
