Boss Praise For Kiwomya Impact

17 October 2016

He returned from injury to save a point for the Alex.

Steve Davis has praised the impact made by the club’s on-loan winger Alex Kiwomya after he came off the bench to score a well taken equaliser at Meadow Lane.

Kiwoyma marked his return from a shoulder injury with a goal in the 1-1 draw with Notts County, slipping the ball beyond Adam Collin just 60 seconds after we had fallen behind.

Kiwoyma, who dislocated his shoulder away at Grimsby replaced youngster Tom Lowery has now scored five league goals for the club this season.

Steve said: “Alex came on and did what he does and had an impact. He has come off the bench and scored the equaliser after a lovely little poke through from George (Cooper).

“That is what I want from a substitute and I was glad we had him. We have been cautious with him in training and kept him away from the contact stuff but last week he stepped it up.

“He felt it a bit after getting a jolt in training but that is to be expected and it caused him a bit of discomfort, but the good thing was it settled down really quickly. He healed quickly enough to be fit for Notts County and we are delighted to have him back because he does give us great pace.”
