Boss Pleased With Reliable Lowery

10 October 2016

Steve impressed by league debutant Tom Lowery.

Steve Davis says that 18-year-old Tom Lowery proved his reliability when producing an assured league debut for the club. Lowery replaced winger Charlie Kirk at half-time at Kenilworth Road and was involved in Ryan Lowe’s equalising goal on 64 minutes when we switched the play superbly to find George Cooper.

The Alex boss said: “Tom came on and played with no fear. He knew what he was doing and got on the ball for us. He was looking for it, came inside and collect it. He looked for a pass and was really reliable for us.

“That is what I want my players to be, reliable and he was. It was a big game for him, coming on at Luton away and us being 1-0 down. There was a decent crowd, who were getting behind them after they scored but Tom came on and wasn’t fazed by it.

“He coped really well and I was pleased with him.”
