Zooms Sets The Example With His Drive

9 November 2016

Boss praise for left-back in the aftemath of cup defeat.

The never-say-die-attitude of full-back Zoumana Bakayogo last night sets the example to the young players in the squad according to Steve Davis. The experienced defender showed enormous desire and drive to try and keep Crewe in the Checkatrade Trophy with his willingness to get forward. Danny Wilson’s Chesterfield side won the tie 2-0 to qualify from the group stage.

Davis said of Zooms: “He has a great drive and he gives his all in every game he plays. He sometimes doesn’t produce quality in the final third, but he keeps going. He keeps trying to get forward and he competes for us.

“He is despondent when we lose games and he was disappointed that we went out of the competition because it is a good competition. He is a great character and he typifies what we need at the Football Club. We have some like him but not enough. We need more with his drive.”
