Alex boss says we have to move on quickly from mid-week disappointment.
Steve Davis says it is important that his Crewe Alexandra team do not dwell on our FA Cup defeat at the hands of Cheltenham as we attempt to cement our place in the top seven of League Two.
Crewe travel to London later today to face Barnet aiming to bounce back from a disappointing performance against the Robins on Tuesday night.
Ahead of our first ever trip to the Hive Stadium, Steve said: “You have to move on very quickly in football and we have got to get over the Cheltenham game as fast as we can. The only way to do that is by getting a positive result and then aiming to go on a little run.
“You have to move forward and look to the next game in football. You cannot afford to dwell on things. On the whole we have done well this season. There has only been a couple of really poor performances and unfortunately one of those came in mid-week.
“The league is very important for us and it is still very tight. I think Barnet are only a couple of points behind us, so we don’t want to give them the opportunity to go above us. We want to maintain our position in the table and make sure we are in contention.
“We have done well away from home and we want to keep that going. We have been disappointed with our home results, so if you want to be successful, you have to be looking to pick up away points.
“We want another unbeaten run because we have already seen that a difference it can make to your league position. The top three have been the most consistent and have pulled away a bit, but we want to make sure we are in the next group and our position is more secure in the play-off places.”
