Steve Davis says he will attend tonight's Youth Cup game at Sheffield to assess young players.
Steve Davis will attend tonight’s Youth Cup game at Sheffield United with his assistant James Collins travelling to Stockport Town for our Cheshire Senior Cup tie.
With decisions to be made over young players’ futures, Davis wants to watch Kenny Lunt’s and Lee Bell’s Youth team in action against the Blades, to assess how they do in a more pressurised situation.
Steve explained to the club’s official web-site: “We have the two games tonight, so I will be going to Sheffield for the Youth Cup game and James will be going to Stockport with Alex (Morris).
“I want to see the young players play in a more pressurised game and see how they handle that. With decisions to be made about some of them next year, I want to see how they do.
“I know what the others can do in the Under-23s and will get a full report from Alex and James.
“We planned the teams last week, so we knew who would be playing where. It is a difficult fixture list but one we have just to get on with.”
