NG Set To Start Against Chesterfield

8 November 2016

Youngster could be handed chance due to Turton injury.

Utility defender Perry NG could be set to start this evening’s Checkatrade Trophy against Chesterfield at Gresty Road. With Ollie Turton struggling with a tight hamstring, the Liverpool-born NG could be set to make his second senior start for the club.

NG made his full debut in a 1-1 draw with Burton Albion last season and has been a regular in Steve Davis’ matchday squads this season, as well as a regular for the Development Squad.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Ollie virtually plays every week. He has played 90 odd games on the trot now, so it is very rare he misses one but if he doesn’t make it then there is a good chance Perry will start.

“He came on at Cheltenham and did well and if he does get his chance then it is up to him to take it. If he comes in and plays well then he will stay in.”
