Davis: "We Want To Build Momentum"

4 November 2016

Boss wants back-to-back wins with victory in the FA Cup.

Steve Davis says he make sure his team approach this weekend’s FA Cup tie at Cheltenham Town no differently than any other game. The Alex boss is eager for progression in the world’s oldest cup competition but he admits that Saturday’s game is no different to the League or other cup games.

Ahead of the trip to Cheltenham, Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We won’t be building the game up to be something different than any other game. They are all big games when we are playing for league points or whether we want to progress in a cup competition.

“Our views never change. We want to progress and it is always our aim to try and win every game we play in.

“We want to win to build some momentum. That is the most important thing because when you can go on a run of winning games or remaining unbeaten it breeds confidence. We all want success as a club. Everyone is it in together and we have prepared for this game like any other because we know it will be tough. Any game away from home is tough at this level and we have to make sure we are professional as we were last week.”
