Boss Hoping Draw Can Be Spur

7 November 2016

Steve Davis says he is looking forward to tonight's FA Cup draw to see possible passage to third round.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis is hoping that tonight’s FA Cup draw will give his side an extra spur to complete the job against Cheltenham in next week’s replay at Gresty Road. Crewe had to come from behind on Saturday to force a replay on 15th November.

The Alex and Cheltenham will be number 38 in the draw this evening, which is set to commence at approx 7pm and Davis is hoping that his side can progress to the second round for the first time since 2013 when the fixture comes around.

Steve told crewealex.net: "We'll all be tucked up in front of the TV with a cup of tea looking to see who we get. We then go in to the replay knowing who we'd get if we go through and that may be a spur on for us.

"Hopefully it will be. We've obviously got the home advantage now and we need to make the most of that."
