Boss Aims For Reaction

17 November 2016

Steve Davis says we have to get over Cup disappointments quickly.

In the wake of our disappointing FA Cup exit to Cheltenham Town in mid-week, Steve Davis is after a positive reaction against Barnet this weekend. The Alex boss wants his players to banish the 4-1 defeat to Cheltenham as soon as possible and cement our place in the play-off places.

Ahead of the club’s first ever visit to Barnet’s new Hive Stadium, Steve told crewealex.net: “We struggled on Tuesday night and it was a really poor night for us. No-one did their jobs right from back to the front. It was poor and we have to move on quickly.

“We were tentative in possession and Cheltenham seized on that and we have got to be better in possession because we were not good enough all over the pitch. It was a strange performance on the back of what happened against Plymouth on Saturday and the season we have had.

“We have to go and again and concentrate on getting as many league points as we can. We are in the top seven and in a good position, but I would like to be more cemented in there because there are not that many points in it. The league still is very tight and we need to get back on track.

“We have to get over our two disappointing cup defeats and recover quickly.”
