Boss Aiming To Build On Orient Win

2 November 2016

Steve Davis targets another mini-run to progress in cups and cement our top seven place.

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis is hoping that Saturday’s 2-0 win at Leyton Orient will see his side go on another mini-run. Crewe recorded their first win in seven games with a professional performance in the country’s capital and first half goals from George Cooper and Harry Davis propelled us back into the top seven.

The Railwaymen have admittedly drawn too many games of late and Davis is now hoping that by getting back to winning ways, we can chase those ahead of us in the League Two table.

. rd to 3thSteve told the club’s official web-site: “The league is very tight and it was when we won some games on the bounce and went from 16

“A run of games can really see you move up the league quickly and that is what we will try to do again. Hopefully, the win at Leyton Orient will be the springboard for us to do that.

“With it being so tight, a little run of results enables clubs to move up the league quickly and we are handily placed. We should have move points than we have because we have drawn some games we should have won but we will take it one game at a time and try and improve.

“We are all focussed on the FA Cup this Saturday and then the Checkatrade Trophy and if we can get some positive results in those games then it could build some real momentum before Plymouth come to us.”
