Steve Davis says that the agent game has begun in earnest.
Steve Davis has revealed that the ‘game’ of signing players has begun in earnest. The Alex boss says that he is being inundated with communications from agents in regards to players becoming available once their current deals expire this summer.
Davis has gone on record to suggest that he wants at least three experienced players to bolster his young squad ahead of the new season.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Clubs are getting round to deciding who they are going to keep and who they need.
“Players will start to get a little worried about where they are going to be next season, so their representatives and now busy throwing their names out there.
“It is the same for us as managers, we are trying to track players down and find out who is representing them. It is a long process and I’m sure not all managers enjoy. It is part of the job and it is all a game that you have to play I’m afraid.
He added: “You have to get your recruitment right because it is so important to improving the squad. Recruitment was certainly a big factor in Leicester having the success they had. They got their recruitment spot on.”
