Alex boss says he didn't expect Cod Army to be involved in relegation fight this season.
Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis says he is surprised to see Fleetwood Town struggling at the wrong end of the League One table.
A win for the Railwaymen on the final day of the season on Sunday combined with a victory for their near neighbours Blackpool could see the Cod Army slipping back into League Two.
Davis says he will continue to select his strongest side for Sunday’s finale to be fair to all involved in the relegation scrap.
Ahead of this Sunday’s final game of the season, Steve told us: “With Joe (Davis) being there I’ve seen Fleetwood about 10 times this season. They play to their strengths and stick to their system.
“They changed that slightly against Walsall, so we know they can adapt and Steven (Pressley) has some strong options.
“They have a strong group, so I am surprised that they have been involved in a relegation fight.
He added: “They need something from the game and with something riding on it, it is going to be a tough one but one we are all looking for to.”
