Boss keeping the training door open for Brad
Crewe boss Steve Davis says it’s an honour for Brad Inman to get his senior Australia call-up to play England in a friendly later this month.
The 24-year-old has been selected in the Socceroos’ national squad for the first time and Davis is pleased for the winger to get his chance.
He said: “I got an email about a month ago about Brad. They were chasing the paperwork to sort it all out because he played for Scotland Under 21’s, I think that process started seven months ago.
“The email told me he was going to be called up for the England game and be put on stand-by for the couple of friendlies they’ve got after that.
“It’s good for him, I’m pleased for him. I’m not sure of the quality of Australia’s team at the moment and how close he’d be to the team, but it’s an honour for him to be called up and given the opportunity.
“He’s going to stay here at the training ground for the next couple of weeks to keep himself in shape before the Australia squad get together and we’re happy to work with him and do that.”
