Boss says he will only finalise his plans after the season has concluded.
Steve Davis says he will announce his retain list only once the season has concluded on Sunday. Crewe travel to Fleetwood on Sunday aiming to finish a poor campaign with back-to-back wins.
The Crewe Alexandra boss says he will meet with his out of contract players early next week to let them know of his decision on whether to offer them new deals or release them when their current deals expire in June.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I’ve spoken to some of the younger ones to give them a chance to get themselves fixed up.
“I’ve waited until the end of the season to decide on the more senior players because I wanted to give them every chance of earning a new deal.
“I am virtually there with what I want to do and I will meet with them when the season has finished. That is the time to speak to them.
“Decisions are made because of many factors. Sometimes you cannot move too much on the finances and cannot offer them more than they are on, you can go as far you can.
Steve added: “Other times, as a manager, you want to freshen things up and bring in some fresh faces. We could do with some different types and I will use what is available to me to do that this closed season.”
