Defender still pondering Crewe offer.
Steve Davis has admitted that he is still awaiting a decision from Zoumana Bakayogo over his future. Bakayogo, 29, made 22 appearances for Crewe Alexandra last season, scoring once away at Chesterfield.
Crewe allowed the former Leicester City and Tranmere defender to recapture his fitness after two serious knee injuries and he was rewarded with a short-term deal in January. Bakayogo became instantly popular with the Alex fans and the club have offered him fresh terms to remain with us but the boss is still waiting on his final decision.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We have had no decision from Zoumana yet. He has gone away to spend some time with his family and we are still waiting to hear from him.
He added: “I’ve had some dialogue with his agent and we are waiting for a decision from the player, as his agent has advised him to sign with us. It is up to him.”
