Davis: "A Tremendous Honour For Brad"

27 May 2016

Boss looking forward to seeing Inman face England in International friendly.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has wished his forward player Brad Inman all the very best if he is handed his full International debut for Australia this evening. The Aussies are taking on Roy Hodgson’s England side at the Stadium of Light as the three lions prepare for the forthcoming European Championships in France.

Inman, 24, who scored 10 goals for Crewe last season has given permission to play for the country of his birth after previously representing Scotland at youth level.

Ahead of tonight’s 7.45pm kick-off, Steve said of his player: “I had contact from Australia a few months ago in regards to the availability of Brad. It is something he had to look into at great length because he had represented Scotland at youth level.

“There was a lot of paperwork to be finalise but he got his clearance and it is a great honour for him to be called up for Australia. I am sure he will be looking forward to being involved against England.

“It will be a great achievement for him to reach and a fantastic experience to play with and face players of that quality. I am sure he will benefit him greatly as a player.

“There is no better honour than to be called up for your country and although it can sometimes be disruptive for a manager when your player is called up during the season, any player would want to represent their country.

He added: “Everyone at the club wishes him all the best and it will be another proud moment for us to see one of our players play International football.”
