Reilly & Lowery make it back-to-back wins
Kenny Lunt’s Under 18 side made it two on the trot with a controlled 2-0 victory over QPR in London.
Lewis Reilly and the main man Tom Lowery grabbed the goals to keep up the momentum in the bid for a play-off place with four games of the regular season remaining.
Crewe opened the scoring on 25 minutes, centre-half Jamie Wilkinson nodding Jamie Morgan’s right-wing cross towards goal for Reilly to divert into the net.
The second came in the 70th minute, Owen Dale driving down the left to get to the by-line and fire across the face of goal for the on-rushing Lowery to tap home.
The Alex are now level on points with second placed Sheffield United, and two ahead of Huddersfield in fourth – but both teams have games in hand.
The team finish the campaign with trips to Coventry and Leeds as well as playing host to Millwall and Colchester.
Crewe: Harrison, Morgan, Dowsett, Wilkinson, Neal, Finney, Lowery (Woodcock, 72), Dale, Pickering, Reilly (Lundstram, 60), Walley (Griffiths, 60)
