8 March 2016

Davis, Ray and Bingham pushing for recalls after achievening more minutes under their belts.

Crewe Alexandra’s returning players Harry Davis, George Ray and Billy Bingham were all given valuable game time for the club’s Under-21s last night. Crewe staged a fine second half comeback to defeat Hull City 3-1 at North Ferriby with Andre Brown and Tom Lowery with a brace on target for Alex Morris’s side.

Harry Davis completed close to 80 minutes with George Ray successfully getting another 90 minutes under his belt. Midfielder Billy Bingham played until just over the hour mark as he eases himself back into the games following a hamstring strain. All three players will train this week and are expected to travel to Kent four our clash with Gillingham.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “It was good that the three of them got more game time. They are building themselves up gradually and they were all on the bench on Saturday.

“They will continue to train as normal this week and they will figure at the weekend. If they ready to come back in and start a game is something we will have to assess and I’m sure we will have a good idea of where they are at towards the end of the week.

“All the Under-21s who played last night will be in today. They didn’t get back until 1am, so it will be a day of rest and recovery for them today. Alex (Morris) said they did well and it was a very good win for them away from home.”
