Steve: "Players Playing For Futures"

30 March 2016

Boss wants his players to end the season strongly as he has decisions to make over future team

Manager Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that his players know they are playing for their futures regardless of what division we will be in next season.

Crewe have seven games remaining and will need to win the majority of those if we are going to give ourselves any chance of avoiding the drop into League Two.

February. thSteve and his players travel to Peterborough United this weekend hoping to discover that first win since a 2-0 win over Rochdale on 6

Steve said: “I told a lot of them in January they were playing for their future. Some of them have stepped forward, some haven’t. I think that there are about 14 players who are out of contract. That includes a number of the younger ones, so it will depend on what we need. What quality we need going forward. Whether that is in this league or the one below.

“We have to build a team that is prepared to win games and work their socks off for this football club. Anybody that doesn’t fit into that isn’t going to be here next season.”
