Boss on the Finn's return to the squad for the final ten

Striker Lauri Dalla Valle is set to return to the Crewe Alexandra squad against Blackpool for the first time since November after suffering ankle ligament damage.

The problem kept the Finn out of action for the past four months but he's worked hard in the gym on his recovery to be available for selection for the crucial final ten games.

He made racked up his first 45 minutes of game time since his return on Monday in a 4-1 success for the U21's over Birmingham, scoring a poachers effort after a shot had come back off the bar.

Manager Steve Davis is pleased to have Lauri back at his disposal for the run-in, he said: "Lauri has been out a long time, he knows his contract is up in the summer and he's got a point to prove.

"He's a goal scorer and that's the key part of his game. He's one of those that sniffs out little chances and when things are dropping around the box, he has the knack of being in the right place at the right time.

"He's only had 45 minutes game time, but he knows he's not got a lot of time left, so he has to do it now and get back in there as an impact sub. He'll be good coming on and running himself into the ground, we have to use him in the right way. To have him back in the squad is a real plus."
