Steve Davis says Academy graduate will only become stronger after impressive debut.
Steve Davis says that the club’s latest full debutant Perry NG has shown that he is ready to step up into senior football and he believes there is more to come from the Liverpool-born defender in terms of his physical growth.
NG, 19, made his first start for Crewe in the 1-1 draw with Burton Albion last weekend and he performed admirably up against one of the Brewers’ key men in Lucas Akins. The versatile NG played at right back but he can also play in a more natural central position or as a holding midfield player.
Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Perry has shown that he is ready to make that step up. It is never easy making that step up from Under-21 football into senior football but he came in against a tough opponent and he did well.
“He has got to continue to perform well and he knows he can still develop physically. At his age, he is still got some room for growth and he is filling out. He will become stronger and his versatility helps him because he can play in various positions.”
