Looking For Gaps At Gillingham

Boss after a similar Southend display at the Priestfield Stadium.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis is hoping his side will be allowed to play with more freedom away from home this weekend.

The Alex travel to promotion hunting Gillingham and we have a recent good record at the Priestfield Stadium having won on three of our last four visits to Kent.

February. thCrewe picked up a point from our home encounter with league leaders Burton Albion last weekend and Davis hopes that result and performance will further enhance the team’s confidence to collect a first win since 6

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Our home form has been disappointing this season and we know we will have to do better in terms of results if are going to stay up.

“The performances have been relatively good and we have been in most games. Only in the Coventry and Peterborough’s games did they run away with it.

“The results at home have not been as forthcoming as we have would wanted. We have drawn too many when we should have won and lost some when we should have got a point.

“Some of our better results have come away and we recently should have won at Southend. Perhaps with the emphasis being on the home team to attack, we do get more space and find those gaps.

The boss added: “We did that very well away at Southend and we will be looking to do the same at Gillingham. “
