Alex striker says no reason why Crewe cannot upset the odds this weekend and get that first win since early February.
Striker Marcus Haber believes that Crewe Alexandra are not ‘far off’ getting that first win since February if we can eliminate those costly errors. Haber notched his seventh goal of the season against Burton Albion last weekend and he will be looking to add to that tally at Gillingham this weekend.
Haber told the club’s official web-site: “We need three points because we have got to try and close the gap as quickly as we can. If we can get that first win then there is no reason why we cannot build on that and go on a run of winning games. That is what we need to do.
“We have scored first in a number of our games and we haven’t been able to see that through to the end. We haven’t been able to keep those clean-sheets and we take collective responsibility for that.
“There have been individual mistakes but we are a team and we know we have conceded some soft goals this season. It is just a question of being switched on and concentrating all the way through because we know if we can do that then we can compete against any team in the league.
Marcus added: “There is still plenty to play for and although an away game at Gillingham is difficult, we know if we can play like we can then we can a result.”
