Marcus Haber says Crewe are more than capable of getting that elusive win in Kent.
Marcus Haber believes that Crewe Alexandra do have the credentials to get all three points at Gillingham this weekend.
Haber has been in good form of late and scored his seventh goal of the season to open the scoring against Burton Albion on Saturday. The Canadian International forward says that he would gladly sacrifice his own personal achievements for three points at the Priestfield Stadium this weekend as Crewe need to start winning games if we are to escape the drop into League Two.
Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Kent, Marcus told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “It is always nice to score goals and I am a forward, so that is a big part of my job. I am a target man but scoring goals helps the team and that is what I am employed to do.
“It is always nice to get personal achievements but I am like any other player, I would much prefer it if the team were winning games and getting three points. That is what we need at this stage of the season and as a team we have lost a lot of points from winning positions.
“We have been in most games and have conceded some soft goals. That is everyone and not just the back four. We are all accountable for that as a team.
“We know there are no easy games in this league but we have done fairly well away from home against some of the top sides and that is what we have to do again at Gillingham. We can compete against the best, as we have shown against the likes of Southend, Burton and Wigan recently.
“Anyone can beat anyone on their day and if we stay organised and put on a good performance then there is no reason why we cannot get the three points.
Marcus added: “We are just taking it one game at a time and trying to put in a good performance because we believe that if we play well then we can get the results we need.”
