Guthrie Fine For The Weekend

8 March 2016

Defender should be fine to travel to Kent but midfielder Fox remains a doubt with calf strain.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says that Jon Guthrie has been given the all clear to resume full training following the facial injury he sustained in the 1-1 draw with Burton Albion on Saturday. Guthrie was stretched off towards the end of the game after being accidently kicked in the face by the Burton Albion forward Stuart Beavon. Harry Davis replaced him after returning from his own knee injury.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Jon is fine and will train as normal. He got a hefty knock to his cheek and it is always to be safe than sorry with those type of injuries.

“He has recovered well and just has a bit of bruise. He has been checked out by the club doctor and he will be available for the weekend.

“Foxy is a little bit different. His calf is still a bit sore so he hasn’t trained again yet. We will have to see how he is this week and assess him towards the end of the week. We are hopeful he will train, so he will be available for the weekend.”
