Fox Should Be Fit For The Weekend

7 March 2016

Midfielder should be fit to travel to Kent.

Crewe Alexandra’s vice-captain David Fox is expected to be fit for this weekend’s clash at Gillingham. Fox missed the weekend’s 1-1 draw with Burton Albion after picking up a slight calf strain against Southend United on the previous Tuesday night.

The injury to our most experienced player forced boss Steve Davis into a reshuffle with the versatile Ollie Turton moving back into central midfield and youngster Perry NG handed his first senior at right-back.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Foxy should be fit for the weekend. He was struggling with a slight calf strain and we couldn’t risk him at the weekend. He wasn’t fit.

“He should be available for the trip to Gillingham. Ollie came in and did well in midfield. He competed well for us, as we knew he would do.

He added: “We will assess how they all are this week and I will pick the best side available to get a result at Gillingham. “
