Davis: "Plenty Of Twists And Turns Yet"

10 March 2016

Boss upbeat on our chances of escaping relegation.

Steve Davis believes there will be plenty of twists and turns as his Crewe Alexandra side aim to remain in League One.

The Crewe Alexandra manager says his side will have to find a way to discover a really consistent run of form to end the season if we are to escape the drop but he is confident that we can win two or three games on the bounce to give ourselves a fighting chance.

Crewe travel to Gillingham this weekend on the back of just two defeats in our last 10 games but we have also drawn seven games in that sequence.

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to the Priestfield Stadium, Steve Davis told us: “There will be plenty of twists and turns yet. Teams will be dragged back into it, like Doncaster Rovers have been lately and others will go on runs to claw themselves out of it. Hopefully that will be us.

“We need a little run of wins and that is what we are trying to do. We have been harder beat lately but we have got to try and turn those draws into three points. We need those wins at this stage of the season and performances become secondary.

“Saying that if you play well and play close to your potential then we have a better chance of winning the game.

“There will be plenty of position changes yet because this season has shown that anyone can beat anyone.

The boss added: “The likes of Fleetwood and Shrewsbury have managed to pull away of it with a succession of wins and that is what we have to try to emulate. We believe can do it.”
