Boss hoping to have Finnish striker back for Easter fixtures

rewe Alexandra have received a welcome boost ahead of the decisive run-in with striker Lauri Dalla Valle returning to full training.C

The club’s Finnish striker has not featured for the first team since our FA Cup exit to Eastleigh after suffering severe against Leeds United’s Under-21s back in late November.

Dalla Valle has been restricted to just eight starts this season and a further six appearances as an impact substitute. He has scored two goals earlier in the campaign against Millwall and Barnsley.

Steve Davis told crewealex.net: “Lauri will be back training with us this week. He did a bit in the dome last week and his ankle was a bit stiff but that is to be expected after he has been out for so long.

“It would have been a test on the harder surface inside but he has come through that okay and he just needs games now. He is making really good progress and moving on.

“We will increase his work load this week in preparation for giving him some game time.”
