New midfielder and another forward top bosses wish list.

Steve Davis has told crewealex.net that he wants another two players’ minimum to add to the signing of experienced pair Ryan Lowe and Zoumana Bakayogo. The Alex boss has landed two of his top targets as he begins to reshape his squad for the coming season and he says that it is important to remain patient in his quest to sign more players.

Steve is after another midfield player and forward to supplement his squad. He has also hinted that he would look to add an experienced centre-half to the squad if he can move one of his other four defenders out.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I wanted to bring some experienced players into the club, so to sign Ryan early and now Zoumana is a step in the right direction. I made it clear that I wanted two or three types with a good level of experience to help the squad.

“Now I would like another two or three to add to that. We have to be patient and make sure we get the right ones. I want another midfield player and a forward, who can help with the goals. That could be a centre-forward or a winger but we only have three forwards with Ryan, Callum Saunders and Daniel (Udoh) so we could do with another one there.

“We have to be patient at Crewe because we are with a lot of clubs aiming to sign the same players. Decisions are not being made at the moment and you have to sit tight and wait. The players are contracted until the end of June, so they keep their options open.

“It can be frustrating but we have to stay in there and see what is available.”
