Alex boss says you cannot fail to learn from a top level tournament

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis is looking forward to the European Championships kicking off in France tomorrow as it will give him an opportunity to see different systems play out at the very top level.

Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he will keep a keen interest on how Roy Hodgson’s England side do in Group B, but he will also be tuning in to see how the home nations fare as well.

Ahead of the opening game tomorrow night, Steve told crewealex.net: “I will try and watch as many games as I can because it is always beneficial as a manager to see how teams line up. You learn about tactics and situations occurring in games at particular times.

“I will watch England whenever I can and I think Roy has picked a young and exciting squad. I also agree with him taking young Rashford. He has shown he is a handful and that he can score goals at the top level, so why not?

“It is virtually a full house, with only the Scots missing out this time, so that only adds to it as well. I am sure they will enjoy the experience and I hope they all do well.”
