Steve Davis says he wants pre-season to be competitive as they work on fitness levels.
The Crewe Alexandra players have returned to pre-season training this morning to undergo testing with the club’s fitness and medical departments.
Manager Steve Davis has revealed that he wants the pre-season to be competitive and players will be placed in groups depending on their performance.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “It is the first day back and we will test their fitness levels to see where they are. The results will be published and there will be a group structure to it. The best performers will be in group A and the worst in group D and their objective will be to make sure they improve and get into that top group.
“I want to make the pre-season competitive and those that are left behind will have to work harder to get up there. It is going to be tough and I would imagine we will break one or two of them along the way.
“They will be tested today to see where they are and I think that competitive edge to you will push them on and get the best out of them.”
