Ryan Lowe honoured to win Goal of the Season vote of fans...

Ryan Lowe says it is a proud honour to have won the supporters vote for goal of the season for his match winning lob against Colchester United. Lowe’s amazing lob from 30 yards sealed a remarkable comeback from the Alex on the night after we had trailed 2-0 in the game.

The winning goal in injury time came in Lowe’s first game of his loan spell and he will now have the opportunity to defend his goal of the season accolade after completing a permanent switch this summer.

Ryan told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “It is nice to win the Goal of the Season award. I am proud and honoured that the fans voted my goal as their favourite. It is always nice to win personal awards but it is a team game and the most important thing that night was that we won the game.

“The fans probably remembered it more because of the way the game went on the night. We were 2-0 down and managed to come back to win.

“It was my first game for the club and it was my first game for about four months, so my legs were beginning to tire, so I saw the goalkeeper off his line and just went for it. It was a great feeling to see it go over his head and fortunately the fans have voted it goal of the season.”
